Non-Secure Detention

Outreach Haven meets the regulations of the New York City Department of Juvenile Justice and the Office of Children and Family Services to operate as a Non-Secure Detention Program for females ages 9-16.

The anticipated length of stay for the adolescents served is short-term, generally 3-23 days, though it varies for each of the girls. Recognizing this, Outreach Haven provides a setting designed to provide an array of age appropriate therapeutic experiences during this opportunity with the youngster, however brief her stay in the program.

In cooperation with the New York City Department of Education and Outreach Family Services, adolescents served at Outreach Haven benefit from a full day of educational programming on-site.    In addition, the program ensures that the girls attend all relevant court and medical appointments.
