Our Mission is...To inspire individuals and families to achieve a life of unlimited potential by developing and delivering the highest quality evidence-based behavioral health services and training.
Outreach HistoryCo-founded in 1980 by our president, Kathleen A. Riddle, Outreach began as an assessment and referral center in Glendale, Queens with an original grant of $60,000 and an initial staff of three. Working out of a small storefront, our mission was to encourage local community residents to seek help for substance abuse problems. In our early years, we quickly discovered the scarcity of resources and lack of services available in the Greater New York area to address such serious issues. Treatment gaps were especially apparent for adolescents and women. Outreach responded by designing much-needed programs specifically for these populations, particularly youthful substance abusers. As a result, our services have grown to include advocacy, adolescent and adult drug and alcohol treatment, vocational services, and community and professional training. Today, with a staff of over 250 employees, Outreach continues to offer state-of-the-art intervention, rehabilitation and training programs at seven locations in New York City and on Long Island. Outreach has been named one of the Best Companies to Work For in New York State 2010 and 2011.
