Treatment Philosophy

We believe that addiction is a complex process that develops within the context of an individual's family environment - an environment which affects and is affected by the addiction. As a result, there are consequences for the mind, body, spirit and family functioning. We acknowledge, therefore, that addiction summons the need for integration among the physical, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions, like so many other human obstacles.

We believe that all individuals have the capacity to change in a treatment environment where change is encouraged, supported and modeled. In addition, the environment must offer the individual emotional and physical safety, a feeling of shared struggle and hope, a sense of belonging and community, and respect for individual and family needs.

All of our treatment interventions provide for a comprehensive continuum of care whereby the individual and family are encouraged to become therapeutic partners in the recovery process. Our treatment approach provides structure, healthy expectations, a respect for diversity, congruency between values and actions, a feeling of growth and a sense of joy in recovery.

We are committed to achieving the highest possible standards of care in each and every service provided by our organization and we participate in a continuous cycle of program evaluation, self-examination and improvement.

We believe that staff can and should serve as role models for clients. Therefore, we encourage staff to remain committed to their own professional development and personal well being, incorporating self-care and healthy living into their own lives.
